Bali - Day 3

The weather today is really cloudy and it has been raining all morning. It looks like our trip to the lakes have to be canceled as the view is really bad. Instead we switch gear and head on over to Sukawati for some light shopping. We bought some art pieces and some t-shirts. It was a wet and rainy morning and most of the store were just opening. After walking around the huge market, we stop to eat the famous Bakso...very yummy I might add. After that we adjourned back to the hotel to rest and then off to the Spa. We had to wait for almost an hour for the shuttle to come get us...he got confuse and went to the the hotel instead of the resort to pick us up :P Nevertheless, it was really nice and relaxing afterwards, I think I feel asleep at one point.

After the Spa, we had dinner at the famous Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck) Restaurant. The duck is so crispy and tasty...was really a great dinner and great evening. The shuttle from the hotel came to pick us up. One thing I like about staying in Ubud is that they have free shuttle service from one place to another.

Bali - Day 2

Our trip today takes us up north to Kintamani/Mount Batur. First stop Goa Gajah, then visited an art gallery....lovely paintings but very expensive. Next stop we head on to a farm where they plant local coffee, cocoa and herbs. Then up to Mount Batur (still and active volcano) last eruption in 1963. We had lunch on the top of the hill facing the volcano. It was a rather cloudy/rainy day...pictures came out unclear. Next we stop by Pura Mount Batur, this is where my camera (which has been with me for 5 years now) was pick-pocketed by the traders selling us sarongs and postcards. Everything happened so fast, that I didn't realize it was stolen until we got to the next temple. Their hands are really quick and fast. I would suggest that if you intend to visit this temple, think twice...the temple is beautiful but the people especially from Java are not so nice and quite nasty. They split us up and distracted us while they fish out my camera from my bag. Last picture of me and my camera together. T_T After making the police report, the police helped escorts us out from the town. It was quite a scary event.

The next temple was in Tegallalang, at this point I was still upset and sobbing couldn't really enjoy much, just walk walk no pictures. T_T No mood to go out anymore so stayed in and order room service.

Bali - Day 1

The flight took 3 hours from KL. We arrive at 1.45pm, our taxi driver Nyoman Suastika was already waiting for us at the airport. He took us to Jimbaran for a seafood lunch. At lunch we were serenaded with a musical beach band. Lunch was good, we manage to take some pics before it started to pour.

The next our taxi driver took us around the city of Kuta. I find it looks a lot like Patong Beach, very westernize to cater for the tourist. There's a big mall there can't remember the name and in it I saw Krispy Kreme...yummy, we didn't have time to stop :(. Next we visited the place where the 1st Bali Bomb took place. The place now has changed and evolved so much with lots of new shops for shopping. After that we took a slow drive up to our hotel in Ubud...journey takes about 1.5 hours.

Our taxi driver is really friendly and nice. If you need a guide and a taxi driver, do call him - he's very good. Mobile: 081-338 701962 Email: nyomansuastika@yahoo.com or you can check out his website too http://nyoman-suastika.tripod.com/index.html

We checked in at 6pm, showered and then took the shuttle out to the town. Most of the shops were close by 8, found a really nice cafe to have dinner. I had the nasi campur and he had curry chicken but balinese style, quite yummy.

Honeymoon @ Ubud Village Spa and Resort

This is our lovely new home (Honeymoon Suite) while we were on our Honeymoon in Bali. We stayed there for almost a week. A very serene and quiet place, right next to Rice Padi Fields. We had our own villa with a private pool. There's even shuttle service hourly to nearby Ubud town. They have Yoga lessons on Tues and Fri plus free DVD rental of the latest movies. Also, room service is great! Lovely portions and not to mention very very yummy! Oh breakfast and tea provided too. Can't wait to go back there again.

Here are some pictures of the Resort...enjoy!
